An independent research initiative and platform

Named after the letter Daleth — a symbol of passage —  our project embraces openness: to ideas, dialogue, and collaboration towards broadening perspectives on drug- and crime-related issues. We propose to explore, document, and inform the evolving dynamics of organized crime — particularly illicit drug trafficking — and the policies that shape them, through a multi-dimensional, development-oriented lens.

Rooted in the social sciences and pluri-disciplinarity, Daleth combines research, policy analysis and evaluation, as well as scientific engagement to better understand how drugs and crime intersect with socio-economic realities, governance structures, and social conditions — and how responses can become more balanced, coherent, and inclusive across sectors and scales.  Launched in Paris and continuously developing, the initiative engages with experts globally and works at:

Generating knowlegde

Developing and encouraging research projects and scientific engagement with a pluri-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder perspective.

Policy Coherence

Reflecting and contributing to the scientific and policy debates on emerging avenues for more policy coherence on drugs and crime, sustainable development, and human rights.

Building bridges

Supporting dialogue and collaboration dynamics across academic, experts, consultants, field professional, civil society, private sector and public stakeholders to bridge evidence-building and policy-processes.

Expert pooling

Building a flexible and multidisciplinary pool of contributors and experts, mobilized to generate evidence, collaborate and respond to specific mandates or requests, and drive innovative thinking and research on drugs and crime.
